In December 2000, Marcel graduated from West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Vancouver, B.C. with his Diploma in Massage Therapy, after a 3000 hour practicum, the highest standard in North America. The program included a comprehensive medical program in addition to hands-on training.
In October 2001, he became certified as a Registered Massage Therapist in the Province of Ontario. Marcel has been practicing in St. Catharines and Fonthill, and has received referrals from many physicians, occupational therapists, chiropractors and physiotherapists in the Niagara region, Hamilton, and the Greater Toronto area.
Involved in sports all his life, Marcel has acquired a vast knowledge of kinesiology and related experience. Marcel also became a Certified Fitness Trainer in December 2004 and utilizes his training to help develop exercise programs for his clients. Marcel uses his knowledge of body movement to help his fitness clients train properly to avoid injury. |
Marcel incorporates an integrated therapy approach with every client. Utilizing the holistic approach, he applies specific techniques, movement, range or motion, structure and muscle function to aid the body to be more functional, making the therapy both corrective and therapeutic.
In spring of 2006, Marcel completed his Laser Therapy Certification to provide low intensity Laser Therapy for patients requiring additional modalities for treatment. This type of therapy helps to encompass therapies for clients with acute, chronic and degenerative conditions that cannot be treated with other types of treatments.
He’s a former member of the Canadian National Cycling Team and has various national and provincial awards to his credit. Marcel holds a Level 1 Coaching Certificate.
Marcel was also a member of Tropak Ukrainian Dance Theatre for 4 years, a semi-professional Ukrainian Dance group, based in Vancouver B.C. |
